Chidimma Adetshina has been appointed ambassador of Enugu State in Nigeria

Miss Universe Nigeria Chidimma Adetshina has been announced as the new brand ambassador for Enegu State in Nigeria. This was announced by Governor Peter Mbah during the former Miss SA top 10 contest's homecoming ceremony this week.

HONOURED

Taking to her Instagram account, Chidimma said that she was honoured to be appointed in the role. "I received the honour of being in the presence of the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah. Upon my homecoming, I was appointed as the brand ambassador of Enugu State. I cannot express my gratitude for all the great things I have achieved in my father's land. Again, Nigeria, thank you for picking me up when I was on my knees," she wrote.

APLAUDED FOR RESILLINCE

In a statement, Governor Mbah said: "I appointed Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Onwe Adetshina, as the brand ambassador of Enugu State. Chidimma is an indigene of Amurri, Nkanu West LGA, who embodies the resilience and determination that define Enugu State. Chidimma is an indigene of Amurri, Nkanu West LGA, who embodies the resilience and determination that define Ndi Enugu. Her journey to this remarkable achievement, despite numerous challenges, is a testament to the grit and perseverance that we, as Ndi Enugu, are known for. I am incredibly proud to congratulate her on this accomplishment and welcome her back home," Mbah said in the statement. Chidimma will represent Nigeria at this year's Miss Universe pageant to be held in Mexico on November 17. Last month, the Department of Home Affairs issued Chidimma's mother with a letter to explain how she came to be in possession of the South African ID, which was used to register her daughter at birth. This is after the department found prima facie evidence that fraud may have been committed in registering the beauty queen's birth. It's alleged that her mother used an ID stolen from a South African mother.
