He has been away from the small screens for some time. Veteran actor Timmy Kwebulana was set to make a return on the movie, Homecoming, alongside long-term friend and renowned actress Thoko Ntshinga. But before the premiere of the movie, his family has confirmed his passing.

According to a statement shared by his family, the actor passed on following after a short illness. "It is with sadness that the Kwebulana family officially announce the passing of long-term musician and director, Mr Timmy Kwebulana, on the evening of 19 September 2024 after a short illness,' the family said.

They said they are grateful for a life well-lived and for his contribution to the arts and entertainment industry in the last six decades. "May his legacy continue to inspire us and those who are still to come. We acknowledge that there will be lots of heartfelt messages of condolences towards the family and relatives and we ask for time." Kwebulana was best known for his roles on Velaphi and Mazinyo Dot Q. He also played the character of Bra Vic Tau, the founder of Shooting Stars F.C., in the e.tv drama series Shooting Stars, sitcom Chandies, Isikizi, Stokvel, and Traffic to name a few.
