The Abathembu King, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo, and the Premier of the Eastern Cape, Oscar Mabuyane, have smoked the peace pipe after a lengthy meeting yesterday. The two leaders have been at loggerheads since Dalindyebo accused Mabuyane of being part of the extortion ring in the province. The closed private meeting was held at the Royal Nkululekwenl Residence.
PEACE OVER DRAMA
In a statement last night, King Dalindyebo said the meeting between him and the Premier went well. "The meeting has culminated in a renewed commitment to peace and cooperation between the king and Premier Mabuyane. The king and premier have put their differences aside, demonstrating their dedication to the well-being of our citizens.'
CONFIDENTIAL
King Dalindyebo said these are private matters, including legal issues, that will remain confidential and be addressed accordingly. "However, there will be more engagements between the Premier and I to resolve issues such as extortion and the crime rate within the province. This peaceful resolution serves as a shining example of the power of dialogue and mutual respect. It reinforces the notion that, even in the face of adversity, leaders can come together to find common ground and work towards a brighter future," the king added in the statement. Mabuyane has not said anything about the meeting yet.
