Zulu Queen Ntokozo Ka-Masiyela Zulu sets record straight about why she skipped royal events

King Misuzulu kaZwelithini's first wife Queen Ntokozo kaMayisela-Zulu speaks out

Following numerous reports and rife speculation about why she was not in attendance at most royal events, Zulu Queen Ntokozo Mayisela has made it clear that her reasons for not attending the events are known by the king and that they are personal. The queen said in a statement that she has never responded to the false rumours spread about her in the past but said her silence has been repeatedly taken advantage of.

REASONS FOR SNUB PERSONAL

The queen clarified that the king, MisuZulu ka Zwelithini, is aware of the fact that she hasn't been attending royal events and that she needed to set the record straight after rumours spread. "I would like to assure the Zulu nation that I remain fully dedicated to the Zulu throne. My love and passion for this beautiful nation, along with my commitment to building and supporting it, have never wavered and will never change. My absence is purely a private matter, one of which His Majesty the King is fully aware," she explained in a statement.

THIRD MARRIAGE SHOCK

She also took the liberty to set some things straight, such as reports that she had given birth to a third child, that she was opposed to polygamy and that she was aware of her husband's marriage. "I have two very handsome boys. I have not given birth to any other child besides my boys. I have no objection to polygamy (isithembu). However, I learned about my husband's marriage through social media alongside the rest of South Africa. I have never met his new queen and quite honestly I don't know anything about her. I have never received or accepted any gifts from her, as she has never been introduced to me. No discussions regarding her lobola took place or any related matters," she said. She added that there was no quarrel between them.

SOCIAL MEDIA ATTACKS CAUSE DISTRESS

She further stressed that the constant social media attacks caused strain on her family. "The constant defamation of my character on social media has caused me and my children great distress. To those responsible, I ask that you bear in mind that I am a public figure - I'm also a mother- a role that gives me the inherent right to protect myself. I have never responded to false rumours spread about me in the past but my silence has been taken advantage of," she concluded.
