The new radio season for 2025 and 2026 is here and contracts are almost at the end of negotiations. Who will be in and who will be out? Radio stations Umhlobo Wenene and Channel Africa have shared some of the time slot changes and who is safe.

UMHLOBO WINE

Umhlobo Wenene FM announced their refreshed programming lineup, effective 1 April 2025. Mzwandile Ntshona will officially take over Beka Ithemba Lakho Kuye, the early morning revival programme airing Monday - Thursday between 03:00 - 05:00. This is after the passing of Nomonde Vakalisa in December 2024. On Fridays, Jaiva Mzansi with Yanga 'Yarees' Mabokela has been extended to a four-hour party. Ezolimo, the station's agricultural show, will expand to a full hour and move to Saturdays from 05:00 - 06:00. Lavuth'ibhayi returns to its original Saturday 10:00 - 13:00 slot.

CHANNEL AFRICA

Channel Africa shared their dynamic new line-up that includes a mix of familiar and fresh voices. Peter Ndoro will not be joined by new co-host Asanda Beda on Africa Rising (06:00-09:00). On The Move (09:00 -12:00) introduces a dynamic duo Palesa Tau and Benjamin Moshatama, for an engaging mid-morning experience. Tebogo Lekhuleni will be co-hosting alongside Nompumelelo Ngubeni on The Upside (13:00-16:00), an entertainment-filled show. World Hour (21:00-22:00). An English news and current affairs wrap with a fresh take on the day's top stories will be hosted by the seasoned journalist Tshepiso Makwetla. Sheila Ndikumana will be on Heart Lines (22:00-00:00). Sheila Ndikumana will be on The Surge (06:00-09:00, Saturday). Out and About (09:00-12:00, Saturday) will be hosted by Puleng Molebatsi exploring exciting events and cultural happenings. Neto Chemane takes the lead on the vibrant show, Africa @ Play (14:00-17:00, Saturday).
