A 30-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with the murder of her ex-boyfriend over the weekend. It's alleged that the 40-year-old man invited the suspect over to his house in Dihatshwane village, outside Mahikeng in the North West.
DEADLY ARGUMENT
Police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh said that on her arrival at the man's house, the former lovers had an argument. "The accused then strangled the victim and stabbed him in the chest. She allegedly fled the scene and informed a family member about the murder the next morning," Myburgh said. She added that the police were alerted and went to the house, where they discovered the man's body.
COURT APPEARANCE
The suspect was arrested and made her first appearance before the Mmabatho Magistrate's Court yesterday on a charge of murder. Her case was postponed to next week Monday for a formal bail application. Provincial Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Sello Kwena congratulated the Mahikeng police for their quick response that led to the woman's arrest.
