It has been 10 years of back and forth as the courts try to determine who killed Orlando Pirates goalie Senzo Meyiwa and why. The footballer was shot dead in an alleged botched robbery at Kelly's home in Vosloorus in October 2014. Kelly Khumalo's sister, Zandie Khumalo-Gumede, who was present at the house on the day of the incident, has recently come forward to share her speculations about what happened on the night. She has suggested that the killers came for Kelly. But Senzo's brother, Sifiso Meyiwa, laughed off Zandie's theory. "Uyeyisa lo (She's being disrespecting). She's taking a chance and trying to shift the blame,' he said.
THE CASE
Sifiso said he's certain what happened that night despite not being present. He said he wouldn't entertain the idea that Senzo's widow, Mandisa Meyiwa, sent inkabi (hitmen) to kill his brother. "I will not entertain that. We all know Longwe Twala is guilty. As to what exactly happened, we will hear when some witnesses take the stand. She's shifting the blame. First, she cried crocodile tears in court; now she is coming with a different agenda,' he told ZiMoja. "They are still going back and forth in court, but we are waiting for some witnesses who will take the stand soon. Some from KZN and some from Joburg who were present on the night. That is when the truth will come out,' he said. Despite his suspicions, Longwe's father, Chicco, told ZiMoja his son has never held a gun in his life. "My son is a drug addict not a killer. He has been an addict since the age of 17 years old.'
BABY MAMA
Sifiso added that since the trial started, they have not been in communication with the Khumalo family or Kelly. "It was only Zandie's husband who tried to bring Senzo's child to visit but that did not materialise. We have not seen the child in over 10 years and right now we want the case to end and for the family to have a relationship with the child," he said, adding that the court will decide who killed his brother. "We don't want to talk too much.'
