Businessman Lehlogonolo Mothapo Mabitsela (44), who is the husband of The Mommy Club reality TV star and former Miss Thembisa 2013, Ratile Mabitsela, has passed on.

Lehlogonolo's family shared the news of his passing in a statement saying his death is a devastating loss. "It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and son, Elias Lehlogonolo Mothapo Mabitsela. We are still coming to terms with this devastating loss and kindly request that our family be given the space and privacy we need during this incredibly difficult time,' the family requested. "We appreciate the love and support we have received so far and ask that you continue to respect our family's privacy as we grieve, and we further request that you keep us in your prayers. We will provide further updates in due course. Thank you for your understanding and condolences.'

A LIFE CUT SHORT

A close friend of Ratile confirmed the news to ZiMoja. "Tragic! He was young,' she said. "It's true. She is not okay with speaking at all right now.' Last year, Lehlogonolo and Ratile's marriage faced some challenges and was reported to be on the brink of ending. However, the couple who share three kids remained together. In a statement sent to media after reports of an ending in divorce at the time, the couple said they were mourning Ratile's grandmother and needed space.

Lehlogonolo, a qualified consulting electrical engineer since 1998, earned his respect in the project management, electrical distribution network planning and design, financial control, and business management fields. During a career in the consulting environment, he managed many successful projects. His peers described him as highly motivated.
