They started as friends back in university. When they decided to date, Macmillan "Ginger Mac" Mabaleka, rapper Rouge real name ,Deko Barbara-Jessica Wedi, knew it was real love. The couple recently announced their engagement.

BAPTISED TOGETHER

The multi-award-winning rapper and Ginger Mac shared a video clip of themselves getting baptised together in a swimming pool. Later in the video, he goes down on one knee and proposes.

Rouge and Ginger Mac have been dating for nine years and have taken their relationship to the next level. In a previous interview, Rouge shared the importance of working with someone who started in the music industry at the same time as her. "We have been best friends for years. So, working together was a seamless transition that happened naturally," she says. "He is someone who genuinely cares for me and my career. We have been on this journey together since my career started." Ginger Mac is Rouge’s first boyfriend. "I have never been with anyone else. This is my first relationship."

A BUSINESSWOMAN

Born in South Africa, Rouge embraces her Congolese roots. The Mboko Zaka singer comes from a business-minded family even before her music career took off. With her success in music, she has invested in property, stocks and works with brands. Her first paycheque through music was R2 000 which she received from a booking from Sizwe "Reason" Moeketsi.
