Following the death of the spiritual leader Pastor Ray McCauley, the church has announced a series of different services to honour him.

COMFORT SERVICE WAS HELD 

The leader and founder of Rhema Bible Church, Pastor Raynor "Ray" McCauley, who died at the age of 75 on Tuesday, will be buried on 19 October. Last night, the church, which is situated in Randburg, Joburg, held a comfort service where the life of their spiritual leader was celebrated. His life will be honoured again next week Thursday in another memorial service. In a statement, yesterday, the church said: "On 17 October at 7pm there will be an honouring service at Rhema Bible Church. This service will allow Pastor Ray's friends and dignitaries to share their memories, celebrate and honour his life. The service will be open to the public and live streamed on YouTube," the church said in a statement. The church is also grateful for the support they have been receiving.

The church also thanked the public for the love and support they have received since the pastor's passing. "On behalf of the McCauley family and Rhema Bible Church, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, support and prayers during this time." The church also said that they are working around the clock to cater for mourners who wish to attend his final send off. The church added: "We understand that many wish to attend, and we are working to provide additional viewing locations across South Africa. Further details will be shared soon." 

Pastor McCauley, who was an author and human rights activist, was also the President of the International Federation of Christian Churches (IFCC) and co-chairperson of the National Interfaith Council of South Africa (NICSA). At his church, McCauley rubbed shoulders with celebrities, sports stars and presidents. President Cyril Ramaphosa also sent his condolences to the McCauley family. In a statement on Wednesday, the President said: "Pastor Ray's passing leaves our deeply spiritual nation bereft of a remarkable leader whose impressive legacy lives on in the faith of hundreds of thousands of believers within and beyond the Rhema community. May his soul rest in peace.'
