The South African Police Service has confirmed the arrest of one suspects linked to the abuse and sexual harassment of patrons at Zanzou nightclub in Pretoria. They are still searching for seven more.The police launched a manhunt for eight suspects after videos linked to the nightclub circulated on social media,

DEADLINE SET FOR ARRESTS

The deputy national commissioner responsible for policing, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili, said they've set a deadline for the progress of the case and the provincial commissioner expects constant updates with new developments.

"There has been one person that has been taken in so far. We can positively confirm one arrest. We are still looking for others. The provincial commissioner (Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni) has put aside a time, he is monitoring, he is reporting from time to time on the progress that we are making. Because we are around here in Pretoria, when required, we do come and assist."

A JOINT EFFORT

Mosikili said they've seen other law enforcement agencies also coming in the city to investigate. "The Tshwane Metro Police Department are also embarking on enforcement of by-laws in as far as these taverns and establishments are concerned. We are hard at work and we can confirm that before the end of the weekend, we shall run and see how many we can find," she said.

Police confirmed they are investigating various offences, including assault, assault GBH, crimen injuria and kidnapping and that three of the victims linked to the circulating videos have opened cases at Brooklyn SAPS.
