Controversial blogger and social commentator Musawenkosi "Musa" Khawula (33) has abandoned his bail application. Musa appeared at the Fochville Magistrate's Court today, where he is facing an attempted murder case from 2021. He has two other cases in different courts, one for murder and another for defamation.
REMAINING BEHIND BARS
Two weeks ago, the unhinged gossip monger abandoned bail at the Randburg Magistrate's Court, where he is facing a criminal injuria and violation of the Cybercrime Act charges. He was arrested last month in KwaZulu Natal after posting remarks said to be injuring businessman Ze Nxumalo and his wife Tamaryn Green-Nxumalo. He alleged that Ze had cheated on his wife. When asked to apologise, by the court, he shared a seemingly sarcastic apology. He was nabbed at a tavern in Dundee, Kwa-Zulu Natal, for a different crime.
ABANDONING BAIL
In the attempted murder case that happened in Fochville, Gauteng National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said Musa was also charged with reckless driving for the incident that happened in 2021 at Mpeneng Mine. It's alleged that Musa bumped a man with a Volkswagen Polo and drove off before being caught by the police. He made his first court appearance on 22 February 2021, where he was granted R1,000 bail. However, he failed to appear in court on two occasions and a warrant for his arrest was issued. "His bail was forfeited to the state on 17 June 2021." Mahanjana confirmed that Musa appeared in court today and that he abandoned bail. The matter was postponed to 13 February for a formal bail application at a regional court. Musa will also re-appear at the Randburg Magistrate's Court on February 18.
