A LIFE WELL-LIVED

The event was to honour the legend's life and her career spanning over five decades. Each artist performed their own hits, with a grand finale paying homage to Kubeka's timeless music. Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture, Gayton McKenzie asked the Yini Madoda singer to hang up her microphone as he committed to making sure her well-being is taken care of.

COMMITMENT

As she slowly struts to the stage to sing her favourite songs, Minister McKenzie said South Africa owes the singer for her contribution. "We need to take care of our stars,' he said, before offering to fund her retirement. "We owe her a lot for her contribution, and it is only fair we that we allow her to retire and rest,' the Minister said. Iconic TV host Felicia Mabuza-Suttle congratulated the iconic singer.
