Lihle Bliss makes come back after three year hiatus

Singer Lihle Bliss returns to the music scene after a three-year hiatus. Speaking to ZiMoja, the singer said she decided to take a break from the music scene because she was overly sexualised and believed that her talent was not being recognised.

MAKING A COME BACK

She said she felt that the attention was more focused on her beauty and body than her music. She told ZiMoja that guys would slide inappropriate DMs on her social media instead of asking her abouy her music. "I was getting weird advances, especially from guys, and that made me uncomfortable," she said.

VICTIM OF HER OWN BEAUTY

The Mpumalanga born said hailing from a small town, she was warned about the industry and did not want to fall victim. "I wanted my talent to speak for itself, not my body or beauty. Yes, I do take care and look after myself, but God gave me talent," she added. She felt she had to go back to the drawing board and re-do things differently, including working and improving her craft. "I had to retreat and restructure and protect my mental health, but obviously I was writing songs," she added.

ALIFE JOURNEY

She is now back with an EP titled Umfazi. She said each track on the EP is a reflection of the life experiences and emotions that have contributed to her journey as Lihle Bliss, making "Mfazi" a compelling and relatable musical narrative. In addition to the release of her new EP, Lihle Bliss said she is gearing up for an exciting end of the year ahead. She says her fans can expect more from her as she prepares to take her music on the road and hopefully reconnect with audiences through live performances. She also added that she is aware that things move fast in the entertainment industry and might have lost her fans, but this time, she is determined to win them over again. "I know there's been so many amazing artists, especially female artists, which makes me proud. I am not intimidated or envious; I am actually proud to be a part of such amazing people," she concluded.
