The uMkhonto weSizwe Party is mourning the death of their staunch member Thabiso Maphatsoe. Maphatsoe was the son of former deputy minister of defence and military veteran, Kebby Maphatsoe, who passed away in 2021.
A LOVING FATHER
It is still unclear what the cause of Thabiso's death is. According to the social media posts from his baby mama, Lebone Morodi, yesterday Thabiso passed away on Saturday night. "Thabiso Maphatsoe, I have no words to explain how I'm feeling now. We had our differences, but you really loved our son and I'll always remember you for that. Thank you very much for playing your part in our son's life and I'll make sure he knows how much you loved him. Till forever, Ramaotoana," she posted.
LOSS FOR WORDS
Thabiso's friend, Thando Nhlapho posted: "I'm lost for words, nja yami (my friend) Thabiso Maphatsoe, if I knew I was seeing you for the last time two weeks back, I could've made it count more than I did." His cousin Manosh Maphatsoe wrote: "You're with your dad now. Farewell Thabiso." Thabiso appeared on Showmax's Widows Unveiled, where his mother is a cast member. His father Kebby passed away in August 2021. Kebby had a fallout with President Cyril Ramaphosa, which is said to have been caused by his admiration of Zuma, who was his ally. MK Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela asked to be given more time to consult with his party and the Maphatsoe family before he could comment.
