Kefilwe Mabote says she has turned a new leaf

Luxury influencer Kefilwe Mabote, also known as Kefi Boo, is trading her material possessions for the Bible. Known for her extravagant and opulent lifestyle, she now says she is a changed person have has accepted Christ in her life.

TURNING A NEW LEAF

The 35-year-old Soweto-born star from Netflix's Young, Famous & African has even publicly burnt her expensive clothes like Versace. Whether it was a publicity stunt or real, Mabote said that she has turned on a new page. She called it a journey of discovery and redemption. Known for wining and dining at the most expensive restaurants and driving top-of-the-range cars, Mabote said she grew tired of that lifestyle. She wrote in her Instagram stories: "I spent years crying out to God, seeking clarity, feeling broken, and wondering what I was missing. It wasn't until last October when I decided to let go of all worldly distractions and pleasures, that I finally began to see the truth." The avid supercar enthusiast and interior decorator made her reality TV debut on the third season of Netflix's Young, Famous, and African alongside Khanyi Mbau, David Platinumz, and Naked DJ, amongst others. She said she wanted God to give her the power to share her testimony in detail.

LOOKING FOR GOD

Mabote said she was desperate to find God and lead a straight life. She explained, "In my desperation, I sought God more intentionally than ever before, laying everything at His feet. That's when He began to reveal things I had never understood and it shattered me to my core. I realised there were so many areas in my life (things I thought were harmless or insignificant) that were blocking my prayers and relationship with God. I pray God gives me the courage to share my testimony in detail one day and leave no teaspoon behind." Mabote's lifestyle had been on social media, including her separation from her alleged husband, whom she claimed paid lobola for her. She was known in social circles for dating controversial businessman Edwin Sodi. On the Netflix show, Mabote had a fallout after fighting with fellow contestant Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan after he questioned if indeed had a wedding or if she had the supposed wedding for content. The fracas led to drinks thrown at each other and tears flowing.
