The newly appointed African National Congress (ANC) KwaZulu-Natal Task Team Conveyer, Jeff Radebe, blames the arrogance of the ANC for the election turnout. Radebe promised that his leadership will correct the mistakes the party has committed.
TURNING THINGS AROUND
During a media briefing yesterday, Radebe said his task team will deal decisively with internal challenges such as factionalism and corruption. "We have no space for the corruption in this collective. We are not going to allow anyone, regardless of who they are, to use their positions to gain advantage by any corrupt means," he said. Regarding municipalities that failed to spend R5 billion of their budget, Radebe said: "Our people in KwaZulu-Natal are being deprived by useless councillors... If they can't perform their task, they must step aside."
CORRUPTION AND FACTIONALISM TO BE FOUGHT
Radebe explained they will be receiving an in-depth state of the organisation report within the next three weeks, which will serve as a guide for the task team to avoid past mistakes. "This will enable the current leadership to get an objective analysis of where we are as an organisation, to avoid duplications, and to ensure that the interventions and the plans we formulate going forward are scientific and grounded in solving the most pressing issues of our people."
