The 24th of October marked six years since the passing of one of hip hop's most notable rappers, HHP, whose real name was Jabulani Tsambo. He committed suicide.
HUMOUR AND LAUGHTER
While he was known as someone, who could come up with quirky rhymes, to his widow, Lerato Sengadi, he was someone she enjoyed spending time with. "I knew him as someone who liked laughter and jokes, he always warmed up our home- I miss him. I'll always remember his caring nature and he was loving as well," she told ZiMoja. The Harambe hitmaker passed away in October 2018. He committed suicide and his lifeless body was discovered by his helper. "It was the darkest time of my life, but I'm glad that's all over now. I felt lost at the time because I couldn't understand what had happened and why it happened," she said.
LACK OF SUPPORT FROM WOMEN
As a woman who shows support to other women, who are going through life's difficulties, there was a dearth of support for Lerato, who needed it the most. "Women treated me with so much contempt, I couldn't believe that all that toxicity was coming from women. They should have known the pain I was going through," she explained. "I was criticised by some women I expected some support from." Although her life was turned upside down by the passing of her beloved husband, she found solace in God, who brought her through the ordeal she faced at the time. "I listen to the still voice that guides me. I'm so grateful to have been able to go through the storm and still come out stronger," she said, adding," I will always miss his humility and his ability to brighten up a room."
