'He had such talent for coaching'

Tributes continue to pour in for the late actor

Seasoned veteran actor and comedian, Adrian Alper, has paased away. The news of his death was confirmed by the actor's organisation - Actor Spaces. The cause of his passing has not yet been confirmed by his family. A former colleague said he had suffered a short illness before passing away. ?But his family will best advise after the autopsy,? the friend said. 


HIS WORK


Adrian studied at the United World College of the Atlantic in the US and travelled the world mostly through Europe, the Far East, Russia, and the United States. He was known as a patient acting coach, director, writer, comedian, voice artist and presenter. He acted on 7de Laan, Generation, Isidingo, Young Vision, Scoop SchoombiePlek van die Vleisvreters and the sitcom Streaks, to name a few.

He appeared in the feature film The Spirit of Cain. Adrian has also appeared on the eleventh episode of the SABC3 game show The Big Idea with fellow Streaks stars Joyce Skefu and Juanita Strydom and competed against a team of comedians Shane Howarth, Jenny De Lenta, and Billy Mashego. Recently, he directed Backstage, Madam & Eve, Shado's and Scandal! In his work in theatre, he performed in Cuba and his Teddy Bear, for which he was nominated for a Vita Award. He played on Big Sissies Surviving AfricaA Coolie OdysseySpook van Donkergat and Raka. Passionate about languages, Adrian spoke fluent English,Afrikaans, Dutch and French and a bit of Russian.

Tributes and messages of condolences have come in for the actor. "No! On this sucks big time. He was in 7de Laan towards the end in a few episodes I directed. May his soul rest easy," Neo Motsunyane said. "We grew up watching amazing talented people like Adrian. May his soul rest in peace," Masasa Mbangeni added. Bhekisizwe Mahlawe said, "You made it easy to work with you mfwethu. Rest in peace, King."

Veteran actress Ilse Klink said, "Just the other day, I recommended Adrian to someone who wanted an acting coach. He had such talent for coaching the actor. This saddens me so much. Rest in peace dearest."
