Gospel singer opens up about a near death experience

Madoda Dee is a living testimony that through God anything is possible

After a terrible car accident last year that left him in a coma, doctors said he will only start speaking in 2025 and might not sing again since part of his tongue was cut. His jaw was also tightened with screws.

DOCTORS ARE NOT ABOVE GOD

But today, not only is Mpumalanga-born gospel artist, Madoda Ngwenyama, able to speak but he has also recorded this remarkable testimony in a song entitled Utsembekile.

Affectionately known as Madoda Dee in the gospel music circles, he opened up to Zimoja this week about the tragic moment that nearly cost him his life.

"It all happened in October last year when my wife and I were involved in a horrific car crash. How we managed to survive is still a mystery to both of us. But all I can say is that God always has a final say. Doctors are not above God and that is definitely the biggest lesson I learnt from this experience," he said.

Besides suffering fractures to his jaw and cheek bones, Madoda Dee said one of his lungs was also slightly injured.

LIVING TO TELL THE TALE

He spent a week in a coma and said it is a miracle that he is able to narrate his story today.

Said Madoda Dee, "Doctors told my family that I would only be able to start eating food and talking in 2025 but through God's grace and faithfulness, my recovery left doctors amazed and wondering what manner of human being I am."

Immediately after his recovery, Madoda Dee embarked on a mission to record his debut single Utsembekile.

"This is my testimony of the goodness and faithfulness of God. He has healed me completely and allowed me to continue what I love the most ?" ministering to people through song."

Madoda Dee said he hoped the song will uplift everyone who is going through some pain and challenges in life never to give up hope.

"If God managed to wake me up from that coma, He will be able to get you out of any situation that you find yourself in," he said.

Produced by award-winning Mpumalanga songwriter Ndumiso ?Papa Ndu? Manana, the song is available on all digital platforms and Madoda Dee is currently on a nationwide promotion tour.
