It is almost a year since the passing of KwaZulu-Natal businessman and Eyadini founder, Jabulani Thamsanqa "Jigga Money" Zama, also known as Mjay, who suffered a stroke. His family; children and wife are said to not be seeing eye to eye about the businessman's estate
EYADINI
Jabulani first opened the doors of his establishment in 2009 as a scrap yard before gradually converting the yard into a depot, then a restaurant and bar business. Before his passing, the businessman from Umlazi township, outside Durban in KwaZulu Natal, had his paperwork in order and is said to have left strict instructions about the allocation of his estate.
BUSINESSMAN
However, Jabulani and his wife, Madlamini Zama, had separated and were in the process of a divorce. "They were already not living together when he passed away. They had sold a block of apartments and did the necessary splits,' the friend who spoke to ZiMoja said. Jabulani was also involved in construction and had a plant hire business and several other properties. However, due to the non-finalisation of the divorce, the wife was left responsible for all assets. "She took everything. Jigga's two eldest daughters have not received anything and they have accepted that they are not the wife's children, and they will not enjoy the fruits of their late father's hard work,' the friend said, adding that Jabulani had two younger boy children with his wife. "They are children and do not really know the details of the split and inheritance. They are well taken care of,' the source said.
LEGACY
Recent reports have stated that Eyadini has now gone back to its original state as a depot, as Jabulani started. "He started out renting the space as a depot when he had a tow truck business; the space is being used for that until the estate is resolved.' Jabulani died in August 2023 after being rushed to the hospital. His sister, Mbali Zama, said at the time that he had been ill for some time suffering from a kidney problem. He was on dialysis when he started vomiting while at Eyadini. Jabulani's wife and children could not be reached for a comment despite numerous efforts.
