Following the arrest of Pastor Paseka 'Mboro' Motsoeneng, his bodyguards and a community member, the youth and learners from different schools around Katlehong in Ekurhuleni have burned down the tent where he hosts his church services. 

CHURCH UP IN FLAMES

Some community members indicated that the burning of Mboro's church was in response to Mboro's conduct yesterday at Matshidiso Primary School, where he allegedly threatened teachers with machetes while insisting on access to his grandchildren. The learners and community members also said that they were doing this after one of the community members was arrested together with Mboro after he had an altercation with the controversial pastor. Before the firefighters arrived to put out the fire at the church, one of Mboro's security personnel was seen trying to salvage items from the tent, but the flames were too strong for him to save anything. 

THE YOUTH THREATENING TO BURN DOWN POLICE STATION

After burning Mboro's church, the youth and learners marched to the Katlehong North police station to demand the release of the community members. "The youth have promised to burn the police station if the community member is not released with immediate effect," said a community member. The learners said that they were tired of being bullied by Mboro, who thinks he is bigger than the community and that he could do as he pleases. "What happened yesterday is despicable. We can't have adults coming to our schools with guns and pangas. They are threatening our lives and we will not have it," said a learner. National police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed that a fifth person has been arrested in relation to the incidents.
