One would expect fans to cheer with excitement after she featured on Chris Brown's single Shooter and met him while he was in South Africa, but it was the opposite. Naledi Aphiwe was on stage, ready to perform her big hits at Mthandeni's Summer Experience yesterday held at eMdletsheni in KZN when she was attacked by fans wanting to see their favourite singer, Khuzani "Gatsheni' Ndlovu. Unaware and oblivious to the attack, Naledi was whisked off the stage after frustrated fans threw bottles, plastic cups, and cans wanting to see Gatsheni.
STICKS AND STONES
According to a fan who attended Mthandeni's Summer Experience, the hosts announced that Gatsheni would be on stage next, but Naledi appeared. "The audience who are big fans of Gatsheni were expecting him to come on stage, but instead Naledi arrived,' he said. "That caused a lot of confusion and chaos. They booed her off stage and started throwing bottles and cans at her.' The fan said she was unaware of what was happening. "She was confused; even when security removed her from the stage, she was still confused," a source said.
SAFE AND SOUND
Naledi's management said they are looking into the matter as it compromised her safety. "It was very dangerous, and she felt unsafe after realising what had happened, but we are looking into the matter but she is safe.' Gatsheni eventually made it to the stage after the commotion. "It was unfair; we are not sure if he was late or the host made a mistake, but they are yet to explain," Naledi's management said. Mthandeni who had hosted the event, has not been available for comment.
