American superstar Chris Brown is in the country and ready to wow his fans tomorrow at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. When the "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)" hitmaker arrived in Mzansi, he went to cut his hair at the popular Legends Barbershop in Rosebank. Despite Big Concerts taking a gamble by booking "C. Breezy" despite his violent past, concert goers and music lovers broke the record by buying his tickets within two hours of the show being announced.
CHRIS BROWN HAS LANDED
Because of the huge demand for him to perform in the country, the organisers added another day for him to perform. The first concert is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the 94,000-seater FNB Stadium. The next gig takes place at the same venue on Sunday, which will form part of the long weekend for South Africans since Monday is a holiday. After landing in the country on Wednesday, the American singer was seen walking with an entourage that included bodyguards. His visit to the country has not been without controversy, with advocacy groups such as Women For Change and political parties such as Good calling for him to be barred from the country due to his history of abuse. In his home country in the US, he has received a gender-based violence conviction.
GAYTON WELCOMED HIM
Despite all the controversy, the R&B singer has received support from Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture Gayton McKenzie. McKenzie said he was giving away tickets to those who could not afford to buy them. Chris Brown's concerts ticket were ranged between R515 and R5,745.
