It's been over a decade since he released music. Instead, his personal life has taken centre stage. After experiencing a public mental breakdown, stripping naked in front of security guards at his residence. Singer Bongani Fassie, son of late legend Brenda Fassie, is picking up the pieces of his life and is gearing up to release his latest single titled Jehovah featuring female rapper, Fifi Cooper.
A LOT IN COMMON
Ironically, it has also been more than a decade since Fifi Cooper released a full body of work. The two have joined heads to make magic. Fifi and Bongani decided to work on a single and ultimately full body of work, after encountering similarities in their life journey. Both felt, they were at a crossroads in their career and needed a revival. "Our stories are similar. We both peaked in our careers then due to personal reasons went silent, then came back again," said Bongani.
COLLABORATING
The body of work explores topics of faith, and upliftment. "Everyone knows what I have been through. My life has always been in the public eye and this chapter of my life can also take the spotlight.' Bongani wishes for people to experience a new chapter in his life. "This is my celebration of faith, resilience and the power of spirit.' Bongani Fassie wants to rebrand from the bad boy image to the talented little boy who was inspired by his late mom and icon, Brenda Fassie. "We are not fighting battles in the flesh, but in the spirit. Our message is clear: do not judge, for the true struggles we face and the victories we achieve are won through faith, not appearances,' Bongani added. This duet is more than just a release - it is the start of something. They believe it will be magical. "This collaboration signifies the beginning of a new era - healing for both of us.'
