Arthur Zwane joins AmaZulu as head co-coach

Arthur Zwane is the new AmaZulu FC co-coach

After expelling Spanish coach Pablo Franco Martin and his assistant, Aitor Van Den Brule last week, AmaZulu FC have opted to hire two local coaches. The east coast side, Usuthu, has appointed Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi as co-head coaches.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Zwane was released of his duties as the head of Kaizer Chiefs more than a year ago, while Vilakazi left Richards Bay at the end of the season after saving them from relegation. AmaZulu brought Vilakazi first to their camp to coach their diski team.AmaZulu President Sandile Zungu confirmed the appointments, expressing confidence in the pair's ability to lead the team through the challenges of the Betway Premiership. "Their combined experience as both coaches and former professional players will be crucial in developing our younger talents and guiding our seasoned players in the task ahead," said Zungu.

THEY BEEN LOSING COACHES

Zwane will leave his position as the Kaizer Chiefs' senior academy coach and join the KwaZulu-Natal giants. This is the first time for Zwane to work for any other professional club as their trainer in his coaching career outside of Chiefs. The 51-year-old cut his coaching teeth at Amakhosi and was for several years in charge of their development sides before the unsuccessful stint with their first team. He was demoted from being the coach of the Amakhosi first team to being the development coach. He joins Vilakazi, who, in his young coaching career, has had different experiences moving between Golden Arrows, Chippa United, Richards Bay and now AmaZulu.
