Since his rise to fame; controversial Limpopo rapper Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, best known as Shebeshxt, has been making headlines for both right and wrong reasons. This year, has been one bittersweet one for the Ambulance singer and he told ZiMoja that he hopes 2025 will come with blessings and "less drama."
BAD BOY
He has always had the image of a bad boy, with the "don't care" attitude, tattooed face, streetwear and rapping about "street life". Before his massive blow-up, he was previously arrested for housebreaking, robbery, and stabbing. But behind the rough persona is a family guy with a wife and a late daughter.
LOSS
This year, he had altercations where he physically assaulted fans on stage with bottles or gave them a klap for touching him inappropriately during a performance. He has not held back from speaking his mind. One life-altering experience changed his life when the Ambulance singer was involved in three car accidents; in two of these, he crashed his polo while allegedly under the influence of alcohol. In June 2024, he was involved in a tragic accident that flipped his life around after he lost his nine-year-old daughter and landed him in hospital. Reports suggested that Shebeshxt might have been driving under the influence of alcohol which he denied. While the investigation is ongoing, there have been no arrests made, however, he has returned to making music and taking bookings again.
HIS STORY
After the tragic death of his child, Shebeshxt has been picking up the pieces. He started by sharing his life on social media, revealing some scars from the crash. His first major appearance after the accident was his theatre production titled My Music, My Story, which reflected his trials and tribulations. For the year 2025, he hopes for "less drama" in his life and to make great music. "Everything I did was for my daughter and my family. Now I need to find another reason. But I hope for less drama in my life," he said. "I want success, happiness and to have peace."
