Sibling duo Boboza and Toto are ready to take off on their own with their new amapiano singles

Boboza and Toto are the new kids on block.

Award winning Tsonga music maestro Benny Mayengani's proteges Boboza and Toto are ready to take off on their own with their new amapiano singles.

SIBLINGS

The siblings Boboza and Toto are a refreshing site to see and are here to give a fun and innocent take of the amapiano music genre. Just like in the early 2000s when kwaito had Mzambiya and Msawawa, 2023 will see the sibling duo  drag their age mates to the dance floor with their new singles Celebration song and Imali. At just 10 and 15-years-old, brother and sister, whose real names are Akani Khoza and Nkululeko Vilakazi are set to take over the music industry by storm with their songs currently on high rotation on radio.Toto, who is the elder sister and the group's vocalist tells Zimoja that not only do they have their drip (style and fashion) on point like any cool teenager would these days, but they are also here to inspire their mates."We work hard to create music that would inspire people the way that music has inspired us," she said.

BENNY MAYENGANI'S GUIDANCE

Toto explains that working with Mayengani under his music guide for years has b

een a good learning experience. "Working with giants like uncle Benny Mayengani has been amazing," She adds: "Our music talks about daily life issues. We are simple and relatable. We want to touch on everyone by using different languages in our songs." The siblings who hail from Ekurhuleni offer a clean alternative to the normal PG rated amapiano songs which are normally laced with sexual and strong verbal undertones that are sometimes not appropriate for children.

STILL LEARNING

Boboza, the brother who at just ten- years-old already produces mixes of their own music, says he is hoping that this journey will help them learn.  "We want to grow different skills in music as young as we are. We are always looking for different opportunities to grow. As much as music is fun. We want to also be very hands-on early so that we can be able to prepare ourselves for any challenges that come along the way" he added.
