Kenny Lattimore heads to Mzansi after issues with Glenn Jones

Glenn Jones replaced by Kenny Lattimore

The much-loved king of the Sunday Soul Sessions with a national anthem, "All For You' Glenn Jones was booked to perform in South Africa for Women's Month. His payment had been made and his visa was ready for the 5th Annual RustyRocks All4Women music concert at Sun City at the Superbowl. But the event promoter cancelled when he found out Jones had accepted another booking in the country two weeks after.

THE FINE PRINT

The event organiser Teboho Twala informed ZiMoja that Jones breached his contract by accepting another booking in such a short space of time. "We discovered this after signing contracts and paying money that Glenn Jones has another event happening within two weeks after our event in SA,' Twala said. "We enquired with his manager, Prince, about this and he was equally shocked. Prince got back to us after about two days and confirmed that he spoke to Glenn Jones, who confirmed having agreed to another event in SA within the same month as ours.' Twala said he then told them that it was a breach of contract and therefore withdrew.

REPLACED

The event released an official cancellation statement stating that, "Due to Jones and his management having decided to take another event in South Africa within the same month. We have decided to pull out of the agreement.' The promoter said they already had a standing agreement with Kenny Lattimore for a later date, so they just moved him to this new date. "Kenny Lattimore is a Grammy-nominated, in-demand artist and loved by many in SA and all over the world,' Twala said. "His music dominates the airwaves week in and week out, particularly in the Sunday soul and RnB movements. So, it was a no-brainer for us to choose him. He is a perfect fit for this show, which is aimed at celebrating women with music.' Glenn Jones' team had not yet responded at the time of publishing.
