Deputy President Paul Mashatile weds his sweetheart Humile Mjongile

It's celebrations all around for Deputy President Paul Mashatile and his new love Humile Mjongile who got married in a lavish traditional wedding over the weekend. This is after paying lobola to his bride's family on Saturday. The wedding was attended by several high-profile politicians, business people and family.

FINDING LOVE

Humile (37) is the widow of former Western Cape ANC secretary Songezo Mjongile who died in 2020 from colon cancer while Mashatile also lost his wife Ellen Mashatile to Covid-19 in 2020. Our second-lady was seen celebrating her union with a dance at the Mashatile home in front of special guests, the who's-who of South African politics, celebrities and business people.

The new love birds exchanged vows in a low-profile traditional ceremony at the bride's home. The first leg of the wedding rituals was held at Humile's home in Leondale, South of Johannesburg followed by the second leg which was held in Kelvin, Sandton where the deputy president resides.

According to one of the attendees, almost everyone in the ANC attended the wedding except for secretary-general Fikile Mbalula who was attending the funeral of the late Free State Education MEC Tate Mogoe who died in a car accident a week ago.

BEAMING BRIDE WAS GLOWING

The bride looked happy and glowing in her Setswana traditional regalia dancing, while the reserved Mashatile avoided taking pictures with the guests. "He is happy but he won't show, you know how Paul is'. Mashatile is known as a great caretaker of his partner's financial needs and is a lover of finer things like expensive imported red wine, caviar, trips to the Cannes Film Festival and such like events." According to the source, the white wedding will be in October in Cape Town. "The new Mrs Mashatile will henceforth be guarded 24 hours a day by the elite police unit, and chauffeur driven everywhere she goes. She will also lead various soft affairs of state and will accompany Mashatile around the world while raising her and Mashatile's children in a blended family."
