Another mass shooting in Qheberha leaves four dead and seven badly injured

Four people have been killed and seven others injured during a mass shooting at a party in Gqeberha

Another shooting incident at a party left four people dead and seven injured in KwaZakhele, Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape over the weekend. The incident comes after another shooting two weeks ago in the same township where eight people were shot dead, also at a party.

 

POLICE: RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME

 According to the police, their members were patrolling the area just after midnight when they were stopped by a woman who reported a shooting at a house in Nomjila Street. Eastern Cape police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said on arrival, the cops established that  four people were fatally wounded (three females and one male) and several others sustained injuries,'  

 

KILLED AT A PARTY

 Naidu said according to information, it is alleged the victims were partying inside and outside the house, consuming alcohol, when three unknown males approached them and started shooting at everyone. "The owner of the house, a male aged 28, and three women were fatally wounded,' she said.

 

A NORM 

 Naidu said these brutal murders are becoming a norm in the area and that whoever the perpetrator is, they are getting comfortable. "We will not allow the perpetrator to get away with murder, the police are working around the clock to bring the suspects to book.

 

POLICE INVESTIGATING

Naidu said that the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit in Gqeberha is investigating a case of four counts of murder and seven counts of attempted murder. Anyone who can assist with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect is asked to contact Colonel Willie Mayi on 082-697-5914 or Crime Stop on 08600-10111 or the nearest police station. "The motive for the murders is under investigation. No arrest has been made as yet," she said.
