Last year, music sensation Vusumzi "Vusi Nova" Nongxa released the album 'NguMama' as an ode to his late mom in 2021. During the release he opened up about battling to cope with the passing of his mother, battling with drugs and depression. This month of March, the Thandiwe singer's mom would have been 60 years old, and he wishes she was around to witness his success and still struggles with grief.

His mom passed away in 2005 and she would have been turning 60 today," he said. "I have got a show happening on 1 May, at the Emperor's Palace. It's the first time; I am doing something like that on my own and I am feeling some type of way about it." He said it was because his mom and always been his biggest supporter but never got the chance to see him perform live on big stages or witness the fame.
REFLECTING
Vusi says If she was still alive, he would have made sure she got a front-row seat. "I've seen other artists having their moms there, and I would give anything to have that," Vusi said he will never be at peace with his mom's death. "The one thing that I will never heal from is my mother's passing, and also just how she passed on. I will never be at peace with that," he said.
