The Diamonds & Dolls star, Innocentia "Inno" Morolong, has been found guilty by the Randburg Magistrate's Court today of crimen injuria and defamation against her former friend, social media influencer and actress Tebogo Thobejane.
NO FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT
Morolong was sentenced to 12 months under house arrest. She has to get written permission from her parole officer if she wants to go somewhere. On top of the 12 months of house arrest, she still has to do 60 days of community service under the watchful eye of her parole officer. The two friends' fight started in 2023, which led to Morolong going on a rant on Instagram Live, alleging that Thobejane is a scammer, sex worker and pimp who uses muthi. An excited Thobejane has found solace in the sentencing of Morolong, stating that bullying has no place in the country. "As part of her sentencing, she is prohibited from consuming alcohol or drugs for one year. Should she be convicted again or if any charges are pressed against her for a similar offence, she will face immediate imprisonment." Additionally, she is not permitted to enter Johannesburg as per the terms of her restriction.' Apart from the 12-month house arrest, Morolong was also given a five-year suspended sentence.
MORE TROUBLES
Thobejane said, "further investigations are underway into her network and any possible involvement in criminal injuria. The court has also issued a five-year suspended sentence, reinforcing the severity of her action." Thobejane said she would pursue the civil route to recover all her losses and regain her independence. She said: "This serves as a powerful lesson that bullying is a crime and those responsible will be held accountable. Thank you for your continued support. Justice has been served and let this be a reminder that no one is above the law." Morolong did not want to comment on her sentencing.
