Well-known media personality and former Idols judge Unathi Nkayi ended 2024 on a sad note. This is after she lost her academic father, Sakhiwo Nkayi yesterday. Unathi announced the passing of her dad to her 1.2 million followers on her Instagram account. 

A TRUE TREASURE

Posting a photo of her father and mother Nondwe Nkayi, Unathi wrote: "It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved father - Sakhiwo M Nkayi.' She added: "A true treasure to us all, a great father, beloved friend & uncle to many. He now joins his lineage at their final resting place. We appreciate your love & support during this tough time."

CONDOLENCE MESSAGES

Her Instagram followers and her industry friends have been sending condolences to the former Kaya FM presenter and the Nkayi family. Actress Manaka Ranaka said: "I'm so sorry, my love. My sincere condolences to you and your family. May Uthixo give you strength in this difficult time. RIP to Papa." Renowned media personality and businessman Romeo Kumalo wrote: "I'm sorry for your loss." Sakhiwo Nkayi was a clinical psychologist at a private practice. He studied at several prestigious tertiary overseas institutions like the University of Wales, the University of Surrey, and the Medical University of South Africa (Medunsa). The Nkayis are yet to announce the date of the memorial and funeral service of Sakhiwo Nkayi.
