After a few years of hiatus from music and venturing into real estate, singer and actress Thembisile Ntaka is still maintaining her brand. The singer of Coca-Cola Popstars fame is currently doing stage theatre in Hong Kong Disney at the Lion King. She's also gearing up for the release of an album when she returns to South Africa next year.
MAKING ENDS MEET
The singer has clarified that even though she's in Hong Kong, she's making ends meet to be able to survive. "People think I'm having fun, but the reality is I still need to work. I mean, I've been here for six months; who takes a six-month holiday?! I'm also making sure that I work to provide for myself,' she told ZiMoja. She added that she's been able to see another side of life, which she will include in her upcoming project.
NEW ALBUM
Although she hasn't released any music in a while, she recently collaborated with actor and singer, Nicholas Nkuna. "I haven't been completely out of the scene; I did a song with Nick Soul, and it's out there. It was nice to work with him. I'm also working on my new album, which is due for release next year in May when I come back home. I have a couple of songs that I've worked on back home, and I'm just going to add a few more songs when I get home,' she explained.
MAKING MOVES IN EUROPE
Thembisile is also eyeing exploring Europe to pursue other avenues. "I'd like to explore other avenues in Europe next year; actually, I want to collaborate with artists from the West and Europe. This is so that I can offer a different sound, so while I'm here, I'm experiencing the culture, so that I can fuse that into my album to give people a variation of sound,' said the star.
