Kids of serial killer co-accused don't trust her

Rosemary Ndlovu and her co-accused Nomsa Mudau were back in court today

The ex-husband of serial killer Rosemary Ndlovu's co-accused, Justice Mudau, says following the attempt on his life, he has increased security and remains on high alert as the accused,Nomsa Mudau, has not been jailed. Nomsa is currently out on bail. Justice said this after the court appearance of Nomsa and Rosemary at the Kempton Park Regional Court today. The two former police officers are facing charges of attempted murder for allegedly conspiring to kill Mudau for an insurance payout in 2018.

NOT TO BE TRUSTED

Mudau said that he has mixed feelings with regards to the matter. "It's good to see that court processes are unfolding and the matter is on the roll; on the other hand, the issue of safety still stands. Whatever happens, I need to consider security and that the suspect (ex-wife) is out on bail though attending the court. I don't want to sound like I'm personally prosecuting, but we just wish that this matter can conclude so that we can continue with our lives," Mudau said.

PROTECTION

Mudau said he has done security upgrades to his home and has also received support in the form of neighbourhood watch. "There's always someone that's alert that will say if there's some suspicious activity, there'll be someone who'll alert us in case of danger. I've had to install cameras and source dogs that are well trained, as well as procure firearms. However, we cannot downplay the protection that we've received from God."

LOVE OF MY LIFE

Mudau confirmed that he has two children with Nomsa, a 17-year-old and a 12-year-old. He said both kids, for whom he has custody of, don't trust their mother. "At this point, I don't even think it's about me trusting her, it's about the trust the kids have lost for their mother, unfortunately. We've received records from the family advocate and social workers stipulating that the relationship between my children and their mother is broken. So she doesn't have access to the children because they don't want her near them and don't trust her. I'm fully aware that every child deserves the love of a mother, but mine don't want theirs. As it stands, whenever I try to bring up the topic of them seeing their mother, it gets messy. It's a subject that I don't want to force on them until an age where they can make their own decisions." Nomsa and Rosemary stand accused of hiring Jabulani Mtshali to kill Justice in 2018, offering R75,000 for the job. The trial continues.
