Police have 72 hours turn around time to apprehend Mpumalanga mass murder suspects

Police are looking for suspects linked to a mass shooting in Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga SAPS say they are working hard to ensure that they nab the suspects involved in the mass shooting that left eight people dead.


TIME VERY CRUCIAL


The incident happened on Saturday morning outside a tavern in Pienaar where eight people were shot, six died on the spot and two succumbed to their injuries later in hospital. 

SAPS spokesperson Donald Mdhluli confirmed that a 72-hour turnaround plan has been activated.  

"No one has been arrested so far, and there is a team of investigators probing this incident with the hope the perpetrators are soon brought to book. This incident has been strongly condemned by the SAPS acting provincial commissioner, Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi." 


MURDER ON THE RISE


Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the African Transformation Movement (ATM), Zama Sokhela, expressed concern over the escalating number of murder incidents in the province .

"This horrific event not only highlights the urgent need for enhanced safety measures in our communities but also calls for decisive action against those who commit such heinous acts. In light of this tragedy, the ATM extends its heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims. We recognise the immense pain inflicted by this senseless violence and stand in solidarity with the affected families during this incredibly trying time."
