TV and radio personality Zotha Masikane, who jumped from a third floor while escaping an attempted hijacking last week, has been discharged from the hospital. Last week, ZiMoja reported that the former radio host and Uzalo actor jumped and threw himself into the ground to save his life after thugs tried to hijack his brand-new car, which he was taking home to his parents to see for the first time.
A FRIEND IN NEED
He told ZiMoja he would be moving in with popular Jozi FM radio host Penny Ntuli at her house in Johannesburg while recovering. "She is my best friend, Ngiyofa la afakhona (through thick and thin). She offered to take care of me while I recover because I live alone in Durban," he said. Ntuli has been a regular visitor since Zotha was first admitted to the hospital. She also shared a picture of herself picking up Zotha while she was accompanied by her daughter. Zotha told ZiMoja that their relationship is deeper than friendship; they like family. "She is like the sister I have never had. With her, I am in good hands," he added.
GRATEFUL FOR LIFE
Zotha also said that he opted against putting screws on his leg, and the doctors advised him to come back if his leg is taking longer to heal. He said the incident has messed with his plans, such as going to auditions and other business ventures he was working on. "At this point, I am just grateful for my life." He also said he is likely to fully recover next year, around April. "I am taking things one step at a time; I am learning how to walk on crutches, which is difficult and stressful, but with time I will get used to it," he added. Penny Ntuli has confirmed that Zotha will be moving in with her.
