He joined Radio 2000 in 2023 after a few years of being off the air after being fired at Metro FM for advertising his MoFaya energy drink during an award ceremony. He then joined Massiv Metro, which he has since closed down and focused on his podcast and other business endeavors. Sbusiso "DJ Sbu' Leope was set to leave the station following the new radio season in April. But he has made a u-turn on his decision and he will be staying at Radio 200.

While many deemed the exit a publicity stunt to get more listeners on his show, he said it wasn't and he had thought the decision through. "I am pleased to let you know that I will be staying with Radio 2000, having concluded an agreement for another 12 months,' he announced. "Keep your ears tuned in to the big breakfast, weekdays 6-9 am,' he said.

ON AND OFF

DJ Sbu did not declare the motivation behind his resignation. "After much reflection and consideration, I have made the decision to resign as a morning radio host at Radio 2000, part of the South African Broadcasting Corporation,' he said. "My time at Radio 2000 has been filled with invaluable experiences, cherished memories, and the joy of connecting with our wonderful audience,' he said.
