Wendy Mbatha's pimped ride disaster

Nomzamo Mbatha's sister Wendy says she has been scammed

Businesswoman and social media influencer Wendy Mbatha, who is the sister of actress Nomzamo Mbatha, is seething at well-known Durban customisation shop Legend Wraps and its owner, Thuthuka Njapha, known as T-Double. Mbatha told ZiMoja that she procured and paid for T-Double's services last year.

PLEADING FOR HELP

She also appealed to ZiMoja to help her get her cash back. "Please assist me in getting my money from this scammer. He was supposed to wrap my car for me, and he kept on making excuses. After that, he disappeared. When I called him, he said he was shot, and he is in the hospital." Mbatha shared screenshots of her communication with Njapha and proof of three payments made between 7 and 20 August 2024 that total R22 000.00. In a later social media post, Mbatha stated that she had to take her car to another customisation shop to complete the job. "I had to cough up more than a hundred thousand Rands so I could wrap my car with another shop. Paying close to R100K to wrap one car is insane," said Mbatha. She also took to her Instagram to appeal to her followers to trace T-Trouble.

SHE WANTS HER MONEY BACK

Mbatha told Zimoja that all she cares about is getting her R22 000 back, as she works hard for her money. "As an entrepreneur myself, I understand the struggles of running your business from the ground up. It takes a lot of work, and your credibility is your worth. Thus, I have not said anything for over six months and have kept understanding his excuses. This is not how I wanted this to play out, but he left me with very few options. I am not going to pay lawyers to get my money from him," she added. ZiMoja reached out to Njapha, who said: "I have engaged my lawyers and have provided them with all correspondence between myself and that lady. In her attempt to discredit my name and business, she has misrepresented the sequence of events to favour her public narrative. I will not go on a public war of words; thus, I am taking the legal route."
