This holiday season; scammers, hackers and criminals are on high alert and ready to con anyone who is not vigilant. Artists and musicians are not exempt from scammers. Singer and performer Nkosazana Daughter has fallen victim to an online booking scam.

BEWARE

The Keneilwe singer shared that a person with the bank account name Mpho Mapeta has been masquerading as her manager and booking agent, taking funds from promoters and event organisers using her name. In a statement, the singer regrettably informed people to stay alert that the booking number had changed due to it being hacked and the person "soliciting payments by sending invoice to promoters. Please avoid making payments of invoices," she said.

She strongly urged promoters to use the correct channels for bookings to ensure safety. "We strongly urge promoters to use the correct channels and make payments only to the official company's account to ensure a smooth securing of talent and to avoid similar incidents in the future. We thank you for your understanding and patience and we apologise to everyone who was scammed through this channel,' she added.
