Her partner, Leeroy Sidambe, issued a statement alleging that Mihlali had attacked him with a kitchen knife while he was asleep. He further claimed that she had coerced his son into opening the door for her before the incident. "On August 4, 2024, Mihlali Ndamase attempted to reach me by making a total of 78 calls, which I did not answer as I had fallen asleep. Mihlali then arrived at my home and insisted that my son let her in to see me. Upon her arrival, as my son recalls, she went to the kitchen to arm herself with a knife in an attempt to stab me, as she allegedly had been shown proof of my infidelity," he stated. He also refuted claims of having assaulted Mihlali, asserting that her injuries were the result of her colliding with a wall.
