In true Hollywood style, controversial traditional healer and media personality Gogo Maweni appeared at the Protea Magistrates Court, with cameras in tow. Maweni, real name Makgotso Mofokeng, faces assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) charges from an incident dating back to 2019.

Followed by the camera crew to court today from her reality show Thokoza Gogo on Moja Love, Gogo Maweni was also accompanied to court by her husband, Sabelo Mgube, friends, and family.

SHE IS STILL OUT ON BAIL

The controversial sangoma is still out on R5,000 bail.  After the magistrate appeared in court and the proceedings were formal and on record, the circus ended for Gogo Maweni. This was after the court informed her that her matter was being postponed to May 15 this year.  The media personality Sangoma was not only charged in connection with the 2019 assault but also has a separate pending matter from 2017, according to the Gauteng Province Cold Case Investigation Unit.
