Longwe Twala opens case against the controversial advocate Malesela Teffo

Longwe Twala has opened a fraud case against Malesela Teffo

Troubled child star Longwe Twala has opened a criminal case against Malesela Teffo. Longwe, the son of legendary music and film producer Sello "Chicco" Twala, opened a case of fraud against the disbarred Teffo at Douglasdale Police Station in Randburg last week.

TEFFO ALLEGEDLY LIED ABOUT LONGWE

In the case opened by Longwe, he claimed that Teffo wrote an affidavit, purporting to be him and implicating him in the Meyiwa murder. The affidavit dated 15 November 2024 claimed that Longwe admitted to shooting and killing Meyiwa at his girlfriend and baby mama's Kelly Khumalo's home in Vosloorus on October 26, 2014. In the "affidavit" seen by ZiMoja, Longwe explains that he brought an illegal gun to the house where he found Meyiwa, Khumalo, his girlfriend Zandile Khumalo, Tumelo Madlala, Mthokozisi Thwala, and Kelly's mother when he had an argument and shot Meyiwa. Longwe and all the people mentioned in the affidavit were present when Meyiwa was shot dead.

According to a source close to the situation, Longwe was at a private rehabilitation centre in Polokwane, Limpopo, when the supposed affidavit was written at the Johannesburg Prison. At the time, Teffo was also serving time at the same prison. "Teffo miscalculated; he thought Longwe was still in the streets taking drugs; hence, he wanted to take advantage of the situation," the source said. The source added that Longwe is now fighting because Teffo created lies about him. "He wanted to trend as usual, but little did he know that Longwe was in rehab," added the source.

CASE CONFIRMED

The police have confirmed the case, which they say they are investigating. Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said a fraud case was opened for further investigations. "No arrests have been made as yet," she said. During the Senzo trial, Teffo, who was still an advocate at the time, claimed that Longwe and Kelly were responsible for Meyiwa's death. At the North Gauteng High Court, where Teffo represented the four suspects accused of killing Meyiwa, he told Judge Maumela that there was a docket that the prosecution did not want to entertain. Docket 375 was implicating Longwe and all the people who were in the house plotting the murder of Meyiwa more than 10 years ago. Longwe opened a case against Teffo a few days after Teffo, a former policeman, opened a case against Chicco Twala. Teffo claimed that Twala threatened to have him killed by hitmen. Police are also investigating the case against Twala.
