Zulu King Misuzulu KaZwelithini has survived a car accident unharmed when his convoy collided with another car and veered off the road yesterday. Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi, confirmed that the crash occurred on the R34 just outside Vryheid in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
INVESTIGATIONS UNDERWAY
Buthelezi said the police are due to conduct their own routine investigation to determine the cause and circumstances around the crash. "He is well and emerged unscathed as his Majesty's convoy was involved in a minor road accident. I spoke to His Majesty last night, and he was in high spirits and conveyed to me that the whole incident was of a minor nature," Buthelezi said.
NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN
Buthelezi said that the king's convoy collided with a VW Polo and veered off the road. "On behalf of the royal family, I wish to assure the nation that there is no cause for concern regarding His Majesty the King's wellbeing. His Majesty will continue with his normal daily schedule of activities by presiding over the official opening of the Princess Mkabayi Regional Mall in Vryheid on Wednesday," Buthelezi added.
