Addressing the media ahead of the party's third elective conference, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) secretary-general, Marshall Dlamini, says all is in order, and they are ready for the National People's Assembly this weekend.
READY TO ROLL
The past months have seen the party face several internal challenges, with many of the leadership jumping ship to uMkhonto weSizwe, but despite this, Dlamini said Malema is likely to secure a third term as the party leader."The red berets are ready to kick off the conference, with an open session to be live streamed. Our CIC will table our political report and is widely expected to secure a third term as the party's leader, facing little to no opposition," he said. Dlamini also highlighted the party's commitment to rebuilding and advancing the struggle for economic freedom. "We are coming here to rebuild, to defend, and to advance the struggle for economic freedom.
SMOOTH SAILING
EFF Treasurer General Omphile Maotwe said the registration of delegates has seen no incidents, and so far more than 1500 people have been registered, including Malema. '"It's all systems go. It is running very smoothly; everybody has their tag. Today we are registering both the delegates and the guests, and tomorrow is the opening of the conference at Nasrec. We will be at Nasrec tomorrow, and registration is going to end today. The president and the commander in chief have also registered here; we will then take him to Nasrec just to see the preparations, but so far so good."
