African Nation Congress' (ANC) Tony Yengeni says he is shocked by the party?s Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula labelling him a "political Casanova".
UNITY IN THE ANC
Mbalula labelled Yengeni a "political Casanova" and threatened disciplinary action against him following utterances against the ANC, ahead of their 113th celebrations held in Cape Town. Yengeni has come forward and emphasised the need for respect and unity in the ANC.
HE IS A BROTHER
Yengeni described Mbalula's outbursts as unfortunate stating that he considers him a brother. "It might sound strange, but he is a friend of mine. I also consider Mbalula as a brother and comrade. We have come a long way. But he has done that before, it is not the first time he has called me names in public but I have never responded."
Yengeni said it is natural to have disputes in politics as anywhere else but long standing relationships should not be forgotten. "I've told him,Mbaks, we can disagree on many political matters, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, and that's okay. But we must preserve our comradeship, friendship and brotherhood despite these political differences," Yengeni said. He added, "I'm not Mbalula's age group, I am far, far older than Mbalula and I respect him for his leadership in the ANC as the SG," he said.
