Her tiny, white coffin stands in from of the congregation at Faith Mission Church on Andrew Mapheto Drive in Thembisa. Gomolemo Mavimbela (9) was laid to rest this Saturday following a tragic car crash that took place two weeks ago involving Sekhukhune United soccer star, Shaune Mogaila.
JUSTICE
Family members said, her mom was in stable condition at Zamokuhle Private Hospital and the neighbor's child (13) was also recovering. Speaking at the funeral, the pastor noted how Gomolemo had a bright future ahead of her, but her light was dimmed prematurely. "Her life was tragically cut short by someone drunk,' he said. "We wish she could get justice. We don't want to hear that there is not enough evidence to prosecute the player.'
THE CRASH
Sekhukhune United soccer star, Shaune Mogaila appeared at the Tembisa Magistarte court to face charges of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent, and fleeing the scene of the accident. He was granted R20 000 bail and will appear in February 2025. This is after he allegedly fled the scene after crashing his M2 BMW onto a mom, and two children; a 13-year-old under medical care, and a nine-year-old Gomolemo who passed away on the scene. In his car, police found bottles of alcohol, a cocaine-like substance, and edibles. Speaking to the media outside the court on Thursday, Patrick Kekana, the uncle of the deceased young 9-year-old said the family is hurt by what happened as a family.
