Popular actor and comedian Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, who turned 31 in January, passed away yesterday. Dibakwane rose to fame after winning the Newcomer Award at the 6th annual Savanna Comic' Choice Awards in September 2016.
REMEMBERED FOR HIS HUMOUR
In a statement released by his management team, Pickledginger Entertainment Agency, it said: "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of celebrated comedian, actor and writer Ebenhaezer Dibakwane. A friend to so many, he will be remembered for his off-the-wall humour and original style of stand-up comedy."
He made his TV acting debut when he guest-starred as a film crew director in the e.tv soapie Ashes to Ashes in 2015. His star continued to rise when he presented Walala Wasala on SABC1.
HE WORKED WITH BIG NAMES
He was part of the line-up of the Comedy Central International Comedy Festival alongside Trevor Noah, Aries Spears, Jeff Ross, Hannibal Buress, Marc Lottering, Basketmouth, Carl Joshua Ncube, Eugene Khoza, Tats Nkonzo, and many others.
Dibakwane also appeared on TV in Divorced at 50, Real Estate Sisters, and Dibakwane also appeared on several TV commercials. His family said funeral and memorial service details will be shared in due course.
