Following the controversial few weeks leading to the Miss South Africa pageant due to the big debate on the citizenship of Chidimma Adetshina, the situation has calmed somewhat. Chidimma has since withdrawn from the competition, with her mother facing an investigation for allegedly committing fraud by using someone else's ID number to register her birth. While the law takes its course, the show must go on. The pageant has announced that Bonang Matheba will host the competition held at SunBet Arena in Tshwane tomorrow.
MAKING HISTORY
The media darling and style icon is set to host the highly anticipated event and bring glamour to the now questioned pageant. "I am honoured to be part of Miss South Africa, a phenomenal launchpad for the empowerment of really talented young women whose lives are about to change forever,' she said.
THE BIG DAY
With an endless list of hosting prestigious events, Bonang has a long association with Miss South Africa. She first hosted the pageant for their 60th anniversary in 2018 when Zozibini Tunzi won the title. She returns after a few years of not hosting major events. "I've been preparing for this night for a long time, and I can't wait to share the experience with the world. It's going to be a night to remember,' said Bonang. Her brand, The House of BNG, will be the pageant's official celebration partner for the third consecutive year.
